Overview of Archiving

On a normal working day, there could be many entries updated in IF.EVENTS.INTERFACE.TABLE. Over a period of time, this might occupy a large space in the database and could hinder performance. To avoid such problems, you need to archive data in these files.

There are two ways to archive IF.EVENTS.INTERFACE.TABLE:

  • Transact archiving process. This process typically removes data from the application and moves it to an $ARC archive file. The criteria for archiving can vary across applications.
  • Intraday archival process of Integration Framework.

Both the archival mechanism look for the delivered events and archive only the delivered events.

The IF.CLEANUP.ARCHIVE.FILE removes the old archived Integration Event records. When you execute this service, it deletes all the records that are older than two days from the IF Archive table.
